Player Two (poem)

* * *

You know, son,

you can continue what you’ve started,

and you can finish what you continue.

You can insert more coins into the machine,

and press the one player button.

Or the two…

I could help you.

I’ve got a few coins rattling

in the pockets of my jeans, I wouldn’t mind

joining in for a few rounds, fighting off

extinction with my own,

surviving the waves.
