Professorial Assistance (or I Have a Really Great Job Now)
So, by the way, I’m now officially an Assistant Professor in the Department of Design and Computation Arts at Concordia University. The appointment came about in connection with Rilla’s job in the same department – her hire allowing for a version of a spousal hire in which I was able to apply for a job, go through the job talk and interview process and eventually, thankfully, come out of it with the job. That was all happening late last year. Now it’s now, and I officially started the position in August!
Frankly, it’s a bit of a dream position. The department is fantastic, I love my colleagues, I teach interesting courses, my game-making process looks set to count as my research component (along with other stuff of course), I’m able to be part of TAG in Milieux, I live in Montréal, and on and on. If anything, it’s a bit eerie how well this has turned out.
Don’t pinch me, just in case.
