dMAI reception

I know you probably think I’ve stopped making games altogether, but I haven’t so just calm down. Today I’m officially able to open the Digital Marina Abramovic Institute to the public. Go, check it out. It’s probably not like many things you’ve tried before. It may not be to your taste. But it also… may. Be.

It feels weird, and interesting, to be “opening” a game like this. It really is like a place on the internet, it’s carefully made (well, as careful as I’m personally capable of) to be a place, kind of a “real” place somehow. Actually, right now it is the only full manifestation of the “real” institute, which is still a work in progress. So if you’re wondering what Marina Abramovic’s institute would be like, or what a game version of it would be like, or what I’ve been getting up to, this is the place for you.

I’ll try to write more about the development of this game over the next few days.

Uh hi, I was drinking water and drunk all of them and then the game won’t do anything.

Hi there – most likely the “gong” just hasn’t sounded yet and you can’t leave. Basically in each of those rooms you need to wait until the audio at the top of the screen finishes before you’ll be able to read. It’s a very slow game…!

  3. Stick Games Says:

I like the old school graphics! There is an awful lot of reading to do though…

  4. Pippin Says:

Hah yeah, it’s the old Sierra style. And yeah, a *bunch* of reading, it’s true!
