I’ve had it in my mind for a while now to draw a faux map for an adventure game, since I like looking at the mad scrawlings in my notebooks from playing games like Monkey Island. So here’s one!

It’s been a long time coming but je vous presente another episode of Mother Was Right. I’m still kind of in love with the concept, so please send me any further fitting motherly criticisms.

Another comic based on the excellent “Big Ears” series from Over the Net. Stubbly guys say the darndest things, eh? Eh? Ha ha. They’re great.

Hot and fresh out of today’s notebook drawings. Note how I’m writing this as if I draw in my notebook consistently. I think this is a subconscious ode to Magritte, whose “Les Amants I” might be my favourite painting (though this corresponds to “L’invention de la vie” more closely).

Another comic based on Over the Net’s Big Ears series. I’m a sucker for the art speak and the art deflation. See how I used blue panels and a blue highlight in the strip? I’m developing as an artist.

From the always entertaining “Big Ears” series at Over The Net. Pretty much a literal recreation with a furtive attempt to ship in a little extra with the imagery itself. Still, the words are firmly the star.

This one’s spurred by a guy in the documentary American Movie asking if they smoked cigarettes in heaven. And I also have this strip of cardboard from an Amazon box. And I’ve been playing a lot of Limbo. So.

This is one of those evenings where I finish up and think, “Oh, great. I made a thing.” The flatness of affect has to be experienced to be believed. So, here’s a thing. Thing thing thing.

A simple idea from the notebook a while back. I thought of the retort in the second panel, came back at myself with the re-retort in the third, and surpassed myself with the re-re-retort that ends it. Me, myself, and I.
